Miao Bin is the Director of Projects of the International Drama/Theatre and Education Association (IDEA). He holds PhD and MA in Drama in Education from the University of the Peloponnese, Greece. He is the Director of the Drama Education Research Centre and Head of Arts Education at Tianfu No.7 High School, Chengdu, China. He also teaches drama at the Chengdu College of Arts and Sciences and at the College of Chinese & ASEAN Arts at Chengdu University. He has been active in promoting drama education in China since receiving his MA and was the first to introduce drama as a compulsory subject in primary schools in Chengdu. He has lectured on drama education at national and international conferences. He has been supporting rural schools, universities, etc. in teacher training and has been involved in drama activities in communities, museums and galleries. His student theatre groups have produced more than ten plays, which have been performed at the Daliangshan Theatre Festival, China Children’s Theatre Festival, International Youth Festival of Ancient Drama, etc.

DRAMA TEACHER IN UNIVERISTY
He has been teaching Drama in Education (DiE) to the students of the Department of Primary Education of Chengdu College of Arts and Sciences, and teaching intercultural theatre to the international students of College of Chinese-ASEAN Arts of Chengdu University. He also gave workshops to the students of Department of Drama Education, Northeastern Normal University.

He is PhD candidate and MA of Drama in Education in Department of Theatre Studies, University of Peloponnese, and has published the book “Theatre Fostering on Campus: A Practical Guide to Drama Education in Primary and Secondary Schools” which has been used as the teaching book in Department of Drama Education, Wuhan Communication College.
He was the first to make drama as a compulsory curriculum in primary schools in Chengdu. He designed three levels of drama curriculum, including compulsory, elective and specialized courses. He is the director of the Arts Curriculum Center of Tianfu No.7 High School which consists of primary section, middle section and high section. In his team, there are 19 art teachers, including 6 full-time drama teachers.

SUPPORT TO THE RURAL SCHOOLS
To address the shortage of drama educators in China, his studio regularly organises training programmes for drama teachers nationwide. Through sustained support and assessment, it fosters the professional development of drama educators across the country.
He has been supporting rural teachers to improve their drama education capacity by providing drama education workshops and providing systematic training on drama education for all the teachers of Tongpu Town Central Primary School. He also provided drama education support to the rural teachers from the provinces of Henan, Shandong, Jilin, Hunan, Guizhou, Qinghai, Inner Mongolia, etc.
He is experienced in children's theatre. He has directed and created works such as "Jingwei Filling Up the Sea", "Antigone", “The Mayfly”, “The Neclace”, “Irarus’ Wings”, etc. and these plays by children's theatre groups were performed in China Children's Theatre Festival, Daliangshan International Theatre Festival, International Youth Festival of Ancient Drama, etc.
